  • Emergency Banking Relief Act

    Emergency Banking Relief Act
    This act (Public law 1 stat 1) is in a attempt to stablize the banking system. It declared banking holidays so that the twelve Federal Reserve Banks could close and issue additional currency on good assets so that every bank that reopened could meet its obligaions, which helped banks going to close during depression and is still helping banks today.
  • Civilian Conservation Corps

    Civilian Conservation Corps
    This was a public work relief program run from 1933 o 1942 for young unemployed, unmarried men from relief families to provide jobs. It not only created jobs but by doing this they planted trees to reforest America, constructed parks and upgraded them, updated forest fire fighting, build network of service building and public roadways in remote areas.
  • Tennessee Valley Authority

    Tennessee Valley Authority
    This was set up to resolve problems with power production, navigation, flood control, malaria prevention, reforestation or erosion control. During the Great Depression it helped pull Tennessee, who was hard hit, into an improved quality of life and is still helping with energy, environment and economic development in the region.
  • Federal Housing Administration

    Federal Housing Administration
    This is part of the National Housing of 1934. Its was started as many homes were being foreclosed on because of unempolyment. It helped these people keep their homes and its intent was to regulate the rate of interest and terms of mortgages it insured and helped increase number of people who could afford loans. The Administration has had ups and downs and by November 2012 was essentially bankrupt but others have come into exsistance
  • Rural Electrification Administration

    Rural Electrification Administration
    Created to bring electricity to the rural areas and by 1939 rural households with electricity had rose 25% and because farmers used more electricity it helped offset the cost of bringing lines to the country and greatly imroved the standards of farmers, It is still going today.
  • National Labor Relations Board (Wagner Act)

    National Labor Relations Board (Wagner Act)
    This was set up to guarantee basic rights of private sector employees to organize into trade unions, engage in collective bragaining for better terms and conditions at work, including striking. It also created a board to over see it. And this still exists today.
  • National Youth Administration

    National Youth Administration
    This focused on providing work and education for Americans between the ages of 16 and 25. The youth normally lived at home and worked on construction or repair projects, work study projects and job training for relief families so that the could help their families
  • Social Security Administration

    Social Security Administration
    This provides money from the goverment to help for the old age, blind persons, dependent and chrippled children, maternal and child welfare by providing monetary assistance and is still running today. In the Second New Deal it was to care for these people when the times were hard and helped them greatly.
  • United States Housing Authority

    United States Housing Authority
    Provides for subsidies to be paid from the U.S. government to provide local housing agencies to improve living conditions for low-income families. This still runs today.
  • Food, Drug and Cosmetic Act

    Food, Drug and Cosmetic Act
    This is a set of laws passed by congress in 1938 giving authority to the US Food and Drug Adminisraion to oversee the safety of food, drugs and cosmetics. The act has been amended man times most recently to add requirements about bioterrorism preparaions.
