    The earliest it seems to have started was 9,000 BCE in Near East Europe, but depending on the region this year may change. end of this era came from the transition from stone to metal —copper gets introduced marking the transition to the Bronze age

    Hongshan culture from 3800 to 2700 B.C.E. produced some of the earliest jades used as pendents. Jade carving is an advanced craft by people mostly used for ceremonial or ritual acts. Rise of the neolithic period was due to agricultural development permanent settlement, later Neolithic period is distinguished by domestication of plants and animals. In Western Europe, this period is best represented by the megalithic (large stone) monuments and passage tomb structures from Malta to Portugal.
