In the US the inter-collegiate sport began in 1852 with Yale and Harvard challanging each other in a rowing race. Later on more sports emerged with the same concept and standards. Football was the only sport that they had to change according to games that were played. T.Roosevelt wanted to change some of the rules because of so many head injuries.
