    1st Round win at Quality Inn Lakers Classic
    The Lakers defeat Rock Valley College, 84-75, in the first round of the Quality Inn Lakers Classic. Devin Carter claimed game highs with 21 points and nine rebounds. LLC's Logan Carson added 17 points and eight rebounds.

    The Lakers earn a semi-final win in the Quality Inn Laker Classic with an OT win, 81-79, over Oakland Community College.Though OCC's Aaron Hayes canned 26 points, LLC's Devin Carter matched Hayes point for point while teammate Aziz Thiandoum grabbed a half-dozen rebounds.

    The Lakers lose to Parkland College, 64-46, in the Quality Inn Laker Classic Championship. Aziz Thiandoum and Giovanni Ellis score 10-apiece for Lake Land, but the Lakers can't keep up with the Cobras' Dominque Walls (22 pts.), Mark Gilchrese (18 pts / 10 reb), and Anthony Woods (13 pts).

    Lake Land slips by Rend Lake College at Laker Field House, 68-65, in the season opener of the Great Rivers Athletic Conference. Logan Carson and Harold McBride Jr. score 15 points each. Carson collected nine rebounds.

    The Lakers nip Lewis & Clark Community College, 95-94, in LLC's second OT win (our of two) of the season. A double-double by L&C's Malik Wineglass (12 pts / 10 reb), and three other Trailblazers in double-figure scoring, Sam Taylor (23), Marion Sykes (16), and Princeton Steward (11), weren't enough to outlast LLC's hot hands, including Harold McBride Jr. (double-double; 25 pts / 10 reb), Devin Carter (23), and Logan Carson (17).

    The Lakers lose, 66-51, to Marshalltown Community College in the first round of the HIghland Tournament in Freeport, IL. In teh loss, it's Carter vs. Carter, MCC's Troidell Carter going double-double with a dozen each of points and rebounds while LLC's Devin Carter doubles up with 22 points and 14 rebounds.

    OT win at HCC Tourney
    It took the third OT win (out of three) for the season for Lake Land to pick up a win at the HCC Tournament in Freeport, IL, edging Sauk Valley Community College, 80-78. SVCC's Jason Riley canned 31 points while teammate, Daven Ottley hit a double-double with 12 points and 10 rebounds. But LLC's Devin Carter went season high in scoring as he doubled up with 33 points and 12 rebounds. Teammate Logan Carson also double-doubled (13 pts / 11 reb).

    A 78-63 victory over Harper College rounds out Lake Land's action at the Highland CC Tourney in Freeport, IL. The Lakers' Devin Carter led all scorers with 17 points. LLC's Credit a double-double to LLC's Geovanni Ellis with 14 points and 11 rebounds. Teammate chipped in with 11 points. And LLC's Kewan Davis shows up on the scoring radar, tallying 11 points. This is the Lakers' final game of 2012, and sport an overall record of 8-3, GRAC record of 1-0, and Region 24 record of 3-1.

It is LLC's second GRAC win and sends the Lakers headlond into the grueling GRAC schedule.LLC's Harold McBride leads all scoeres with 17 points. Teammate Devin Carter adds 16 points, and Jason Henry contributes 14 ponits off the bench.

    The Blue Storm of Southwestern Illinois College and the Lakers of Lake Land College are perfect in the GRAC to date. By the final buzzer, LLC had sole possesion of first with 70-63 win. LLC's Harold McBride Jr. led all scorers with 20 points. Teammate Devin Carter adds 17, and Javon Price comes off the bench to chip in 11 more.

    A three-point victory, 71-68, over Southeastern Illinois College keeps the Lakers' conference record spotless at 4-0. SIC's Michael Walker's 24 points kept the Lakers busy on defense. LLC' Logan Carson led the Lakers with 19 points. Teammate Harold McBride supports Carson's effort with 18 more.

    Lakers prevent spoilage at Laker Field House
    The Blue Devils of Kaskaskia College came just short of spoiling the Lakers' perfect GRAC record, losing 68-65. Logan Carson led teh Lakers' scoring for the second game in a row with 24 points. Harold McBride Jr. played a supporting role once more, adding 14 points, while DeMario McMillian begins to make his mark on LLC's roster, chipping in ten while pulling down nine rebounds.

    Olney Central College's gym has a nickname, "The Dugeon," but the Blue Knights couldn't finish off the Lakers this time, Lake Land winning, 80-67. LLC's Giovanni Ellis came screaming off the bench with a statement of 20 points and eight rebounds. Teammate KeWan Davis threw in 19 points with Logan Carson adding a dozen. This game extends the Lakers' GRAC record to 6-0.

    Wabash Valley College's season is sputtering, but they haven't forgotten how to play tough when a bigtime rival comes to town. Lake Land loses by a half-dozen, 80-74, in a game where the Warriors can't miss. WVC places five in double figures: Rontray Chavis (22), Alex Carr (13), Alvin Braddock (11), and off the bench, Tyrone Sherman and Phillip Jackson with 10-each. LLC's Harold McBride Jr. nets 20 points while Javon Price adds 13. The Lakers limp out of Mt. Carmel, a half-game up in the GRAC.

    A 92-89 loss to John A. Logan College throws the Lakers into a three-way tie for the GRAC lead (with JAL and Rend Lake College). JAL's Aaron Adeoye was unstoppable, inside or outside, tallying 35 points to lead all scorers. LLC's Devin Carter tossed in 27, including 11-for-12 from the charity stripe. Teammate Harold McBride Jr. added 19 points.
