The First Saturday Surprise
On March 8, 1935 Hitler began the first of his "Saturday surprises". Hitler would order invasions or military actions in the weekend(s) that British leaders were in their home country. He did this because they would not be able to react as quickley. -
Allies
Germany becomes Allies with Italy. -
Austria
In fall of 1936 Germany became allies with Italy. This lead to the unity of Germany and Austria. Now hitler had their trust. On February 12 Hitler invited the austrian Prim Minister to a secret meeting where Hitler screamed at him to join them in the Greater Germany. 99.7% of people agreed to joining the Greater Germany. -
Night of the Broken Glass
On November 7, 1938 a seventeen year old boy walked into the German Embassy and shot and killed a Nazi official. On the night of November 9-10 the German soldiers killed over ninety jews, set over 191 synagogues on fire, and destroyed thousands of jewish homes and buisnesses to avenge his death. -
The Invasion
In March of 1939 Hitler invaded Czechoslovakia. World leaders were shocked. Hitler said next would be Poland. Britan said if he took Poland he would be waging war on England. Hitler vowed it would be the last territory to be conquered. -
Poland
In August oof 1939 Hitler dressed up his men as Polish soldiers and had them take a group of Jewish "prisoners" and kill them. He then waged war on Poland because they had started it. Great Britain did not do anything because it had seemed to be true. -
Fall of Poland
Germany takes over Poland and makes it "the General Government of Poland". They deported millions of Poles and Gypsies to the Government. The Poles who didn't follow the Nazis had to greet them but weren't allowed to say "Heil Hitler". -
Conquering West
While Germany was at war with Britain, they also were taking more countries. In April they took both Denmark and Norway. In May they took the Netherlands. Also in May Winston Churchill became the Prime Minaster. -
Russia
In June of 1944 Hitler ordered the Nazis into the Soviet Union. He wanted to destroy all "Jewish-Bolshevik Menace". He ordered any-one who was an enemy of the state to be murdered -
United States in The War
On December 8, 1941 the US declared war on Japan. On December 7, 1941 Japan had bombed Pearl Harbor. On the 9th Japan asked Germany to help them with the War against the US. So on the 11th Germany declared war on the US.
