Music through Life

  • Busted

    Busted
Throughout my child hood, Busted were my favourite band, their album A Present For Everyone, I remember bouncing on my bed listening to Year 3000. The music was really up beat, catchy and the lyrics are very sing along easy for any young kid getting into music. There wasnt much of an artist following between my friends in Primary school and there wasnt a wide accessable internet so I would have to listen to cds which got switched around between my friends
  • The Darkness

    The Darkness
During the end of my Primary school years I started playing guitar, from that I discoverd the song 'I Believe In A Thing Called Love" which completely inspired me to get into music. I would ask my guitar teacher everyweek to teach me a bit of it. I even cried when they split up. The vocals were legendary, Justin Hawkins has been known for his rock high notes and along with a sweet harmonic guitar lines creates some of the best rock songs made such as "I believe In a thing called love".
  • Flo Rida

    Flo Rida
Start of Secondary school I started to realise I had a skill in dancing, I put the guitar down and continued my love of music in the form of dance, I liked Flo Ridas songs as they still had a very harmonic sweet melody to them but still had the gangster style that I used in dance.
  • BoomfunkMc

    BoomfunkMc
It was around this time I was getting into breakdancing, this song was one of my favourites, I had a full routine with it and even won competitions using it. I liked it because the beat was really good and the song its self was so funky that you could almost add humour into the dancing itself.
  • Owl city Fire flies

    Owl city Fire flies
This time in my life was when I got into my first relationship, we both really liked this song for its beautiful lyrics and amazing melody. This was our song and still holds memories, though I was still into my Hip Hop music this was a big stage of listening to mainstream music something I have never done before.
  • Hadouken

    Hadouken
I was in a quite low point of my teenage life and discoverd Hadouken, their lyrics just spoke about not caring and smashing the place up though did it in a positive party atmospheric way, it was really fun to listen to and would have been the first time I had heard of electronic music with a rocky distorted guitar sound that I had loved from The Darkness.
  • Slipknot

    Slipknot
My music taste slowley changed over time and when playing a driving game on the ps3 my music taste changed dramatically. I had no friends at the time that listened to this genre of music. this music genre ead to a big friendship group and future career change. I became friends with people into the heavier genres of music, I stopped dancing and picked up the guitar. What i loved in Slipknot especially their song Before I forget is you can hear the vocal dynamics expressing emotion.
  • Asking Alexandria

    Asking Alexandria
During 2013 I started getting into bands, playing guitar and vocals, Asking alexandria became inspiration with my music writting, it was their combination of incredibly rythmic guitar strumming patterns with a strong song structure. I was a big fan for quite a while, went to their shows, bought their merch, though I felt that there were better bands of the same style and of different and discoverd, post hardcore music.
  • Adept

    Adept
From discovering the commercial famous bands in the industry I was able to search deeper in the genre and discoverd bands such as adept who were good and up and coming. Their music is so upbeat, almost epic sounding by how well harmonies are used and the most ridiculous strumming patterns. I have even contacted them online and my love for metalcore/ Posthardcore. continued onto a heavier path.
  • Crown The Empire

    Crown The Empire
I heard crown the empire by accident scrolling through youtube, this lead to to the genre electocore which combines dubstep like synths with metalcore, the combination really works and amazing samples such as sub drops are even used in their live sets creating a really good audiable expirence. They are the heaviest band I frequently listened to with their guitars dropped to drop C leaving them 3 tones lower than a standard guitars tuning. This creates a great tone from the strings tension.
  • Koan Sound

    Koan Sound
My music changed dramatically from the start of college, from meeting new people I have been exploring loads of different genres of music. Whenever I go to a party this artist always seems to pop up. The music is very positive, up beat and happy which is a big change from what I used to, this has been a positive chapter in my life and I have discoverd a lot more positive sounds, in the EDM scene.
  • MrTraumatik

    MrTraumatik
From meeting new people who listen to Drum and Bass and grime, I have found a love for MrTraumatik from the upbeat rapping with really funny lyrics over a trippy hypnotic instrument line. With other rappers I feel I get bored and that there is no skill to the bars wrtitten. Mr Traumatiks beats are really flowing and squelchy just like koan sounds bass lines but much more flat and heavy.
