Preceding Kristallnacht was the Jewish discrimination. Many European Jews started losing their jobs, were being harassed, and etc. Although this was happening, they still had freedom, until they got deported to the Ghetto. This is shown in Milkweed when the boy pees on Misha, when Misha gets called "A filthy son of Abraham," and when the Jew got hanged because he was accused of stealing a horse of the Merry-Go Round -

Nazi invasion on Poland
Nazi's invaded Poland, especially Warsaw (the capital of Poland) where Misha was. They took complete control of the city with the Nazis (Jackboot) as soldiers. It was in Invaded because it was needed as living space for Germans. At this time, Misha meets the gang, gets his name, and is stealing out with Uri. -
Bombing of Warsaw
On this date, Nazi troops had conducted the largest air raid in history on Warsaw, Poland. They had dropped approximately 560 tons of explosives, and 72 tons of incendiary bombs. Around this time Misha got his identity and met the boys -
Night of Broken Glass
Kristallnacht, or the "Night of Broken Glass" was when many people damaged/destroyed Jewish property. In Milkweed, this forced Uri and Misha out of their barber shop where they lived in, as they were getting raided -
Jews and Gypsies were deported to Warsaw Ghetto
Nazi's order Jews and Gypsies to be deported to the Warsaw Ghetto. Around this time, Misha becomes a Milgrom, moves in with the Milgroms, and steals through the crack in the Ghetto wall. -

Deportation From Ghetto to camps
The Jews and Gypsies in the Ghetto were deported to Treblinka II extermination camp where they were almost guaranteed to die. -

Holocaust
During this time period, Misha worked on a farm after getting shot by Uri. While Misha worked on the Farm, around 6 million Jews would die at the hands of their Nazi oppressors. The mass murdering started in approximately 1942 -
Killing and More Deportation
The remaining Jews in the Ghetto were a total about 70,000. 1,171 were shot and killed and 6,500 were deported. At this time, Uri warned Misha to run away, and so does Mr. Milgrom. He also tries to run with Janina, but ultimately fails as she won't listen -
Heinrich Himmler visits the Ghetto
Heinrich Himmler comes and inspects the Ghetto. In Milkweed, Misha goes chasing after Himmler's car trying to find him -
Ghetto Uprising
At this time, the Nazis were plotting to destroy the Ghetto, but the residents of the Ghetto fought back with weapons such as grenades and pistols. -
Immigration
After Misha escapes his farm in 1945, he continues to steal and sells his items to get enough for a steamboat ticket to America. During this time, Concentration Camps are liberated, Hitler commits suicide, and the war in Europe is over. -

New Life
Around this time period, Misha starts a new life as a salesman (which ultimately failed for him) in America. He gets married, gets divorced by his wife, and found out his wife was pregnant. He later meets his daughter and grand daughter
