    The number of people that an be successfully integrated into our town is approximately 70 to 80 due to the fact that that number is ideal in order to find jobs for the migrants.Kozani also cooperates with civil society organizations, such as Arsis Kozani, which run support and accommodation programs for refugees.

    1) In the municipality of Voio (within the Kozani Regional Unit), there is a hosting structure for unaccompanied minor girls with 40 places. 2) The municipality of Kozani plans to provide temporary housing services for homeless people by adapting buildings it already owns. 3) NGOs operating in Kozani, such as Arsis Kozani, have experience in housing programs for refugees. 4) The Municipality’s Community Center also supports vulnerable groups and could assist refugee families.

  • The ways that my school can help

    Language support Students and teachers can organize Greek or English language tutoring sessions for refugee children or teenagers.
    Homework or study support Students can help refugee classmates with homework, especially in subjects that are difficult for newcomers.
    Donation drives The school can collect food, clothes, school supplies, and hygiene items for refugee families, in cooperation with the municipality or NGOs like Arsis Kozani.

    Welcoming refugees can bring several benefits to Kozani and its residents:
    1. Economic growth Refugees can work in local businesses, agriculture, and services, helping the economy grow. New small businesses or social enterprises started by refugees can create jobs for locals as well.
