invented the printing press

Johannes Gutenberg set out to create a machine that could produce pages at a very fast speed. quickly he established the basics of his machine. Within 10 years the printing press was put out to commercial use. This Machine was mostly used for the church most famous work was the 42 line bible.

Michelangelo was born in Caprese Michelangelo, Italy. His mother Francesca di Neri del Miniato di Siena and his father was Ludovico di Leonardo di Buonarotto Simoni. Michelangelo also has four other siblings.

Michelangelos mom passed away. Not long after he was sent to live with a stone cutter, that is where he learned and developed his interest in sculpting. This is how he discovered his talent and worked up from that.

In 1481 Michelangelo told his father about his passion for sculpting. His father didnt think this was the right choice in his career. He was very judgemental towards his decisions.

Began his first apprenticeship.

Michelangelo be cared his first apprenticeship when he was sent to Florence to study grammar. this is also the time when he told his father of his dreams of being a sculpter. this was an important step because his father was against him not doing something that was completely traditional. And lastly this was where he had created his first works such as "Head of the faun" and "Madonna on the stairs".

On this day he had three ships the Nina the Pinta and the Santa Maria. this was about two months long journey that his crew endured. on October 12, 1492 they finally where did all this ball island in the Caribbean's at first the crew believe that they have reached Asia they have not this had opened up a whole new world.

permits the French invasion of Italy

in 1494 Ludovico Sforza permits The French invasion of Italy. he did this to try to weaken the king of Naples (his enemy). The first invitation that occurred due to this failure but the French return, and for a period of time competition for Italians begin.

Went to rome.

At the age of 21 Michelangelo went to Rome for the first time to create a sculpture to go into a side chapel at Old St. Peter’s Basilica in Rome. It was said that this sulpture would be so successful that it helped launch Michelangelo’s career unlike any previous work he had done.

sells first important work

In 1497, Michelangelo created his first important work. including the "Bacchus" and "Cupid". he sold both of these works in Baldassare del Milanese. The Cupid was destroyed by fire in 1698.

Sculpts "Pieta"

In 1499, Michelangelo created the pita for cardinal Jean De Bilheres. It was made for his funeral monument. This was also the only piece that they have ever signed.

In 1504, Michelangelo sculpture David is set up in front of a opera del duomo. This was originally in tended to be a group of sculptures for that Catherine of Florence. also Michael Angelo worked on this piece with Antonio Rossellino.

Niccolo Machiavelli is best known for his book "The Prince". This Book was a handbook for politicians. It also established much Machiavelli as the father of political history.

creates Pope Julius tomb

In 1513, Michelangelo created Pope Julius tomb. His tomb was also surrounded by fortify life-size statues. This assignment from the pope changed very many times. Including The fact that the tomb was set to be much smaller and less extravagant after the pope died and did not have a say.

begins work in Laurentin library

In 1524, Michelangelo begin his work on the Laurentin library. Here, he constructed a beautiful entrance floor walls and ceiling. Michelangelo also establish the library Badia Fiesolana.

The sack of Rome

May 6, 1527

On May 6th, muddy troops of Spanish Catholic in German Lutheran got to Rome. They were resentful of the papacy and were raging as they entered the Vatican. The pope was hustled away to safety and the sack of Rome has begun. A few years later in 1530, the pope and emperor reconciled.

became head of the church

Henry the 8th was born on June 28th, 1491. He was a very hard-working student learned many languages and studied hard. He also learned how to play the lute organ and harp. On his fathers death April 21st, 1509 he became head of the English kingdom and church.

destroys his own tomb

In 1555, Michelangelo destroy his own tomb. He had been working on this piece for eight years. It is thought that he destroyed his work out for a fit of frustration. Franceso Bandini was one to restore his work.
