    Proclomation 1763
    The Proclomation of 1763 proposed that colonists cannot settle West of the Applachian Mountains. This Proclomation angered colonists greatly. The British passed this law to keep peace between Native Americans and not start another rebellion for example, Pontiacs Rebellion. The colonists were mad because they had already pre owned the land West of the Applachian Mountains. As a result of this numerous colonists ignored this law.

  • Stamp Act

    Stamp Act
    In 1765 the Stamp Act was passed by Parliament. This Act made all legal and commercial documents to carry an official stamp saying that they have paid tax on it. Some of those documents included, diplomas, contracts, wills, and newspapers. This Act taxed everyone in the colonies and if you ask me the colonists were really angry about this. Colonists began to protest and say, "No Taxation Without Representation."

    The Declaration Act
    After the Stamp Act was repealed, British Parliament passed another act called the Declaration Act. This Act said that the British Parliament had complete power over all the thirteen colonies. Since, the Stamp Act was repealed colonists rejoiced but when the Declaration Act was passed they tried the best in their power to ignore it.

    The Townshend Acts Passed
    A year after the Stamp Act was repealed the British Parliament named these laws after a man named Charles Townshend. Later known as the Townshend Acts, colonists began boycotting. The first part of the Townshend act suspened New Yorks assemblies. The others placed tax on good such as glass, paper, and paint, and it let people known as the Writs of Assistance to go through colonists house and check to see if all the goods they had weren't smuggled.

    Townshend Acts Repealed
    Since Parliament repealed the Townshend Acts hatred between the colonists and Britian reduced. Even though the British repealed the Townshend Acts the colonists still had a little bit of anger in them because of all the taxes that the British bombarded on them. Soon the Parliament will pass another harsh law on everyone.

    Te Act Passed
    Parliament yet again passed another act on the colonists which was called the Tea Act. Since tea was very popular in all the colonies, British thought that by passing this act was a great way to get money for their debt. This act gave Britian control over tea trade in America. Merchants or colonists who smuggled tea had to pay now because of the British Parliament. Colonists got even angrier because of British interferring with their tea trade.
  • The Intolerable Acts Passed

    The Intolerable Acts Passed
    To punish the Colony of Massachusetts because of the Boston Tea Party, the Britsh passed more acts called the Intolerable Acts. The British passed these acts to be a warning to any colonie who dares to mess with the british. One of these Intolerable Acts closed down the port of Boston so no goods could be imported or exported. Another act suspened the Committees of Correspondence and allowed British to send troops to be housed by the colonists. These acts made colonists very mad.
  • The Battle of Lexington and Concord

    The Battle of Lexington and Concord
    In 1775, Paul Revere, William dawes, and Dr. Samuel Prescott warned the people in Lexington and Concord that the British were coming to demolish them. Paul Revere had latern signals. One latern meant the were coming by land and Two laterns meant they were coming by water. Later, 4,000 militia and minutemen were there to make the British retreat. This battle sparked the start of the Revolutionary War.
