The Roosevelt arrived at Cape Sheridan, and Matt started training the crew to dog drive, igloo build, and survival.

Each man was able to take a special item, Matt took his bible. There was only enough food for 50 days.

Matt and his crew were on their way to the North Pole.

Henson and Peary caught up with Bartlett at the unfrozen Lead.

The Big Lead was finally frozen over again, and the men crossed and were off.

Three men had already returned as planned, now it was Ross Marvin's turn to go back.

Peary and Henson caught up with Bartlett at the Big Lead. Then the explorers went to sleep, and during the night the Big Lead unfroze and Bartlett was stuck on an ice burg, and he jumped to saftey.

Bartlett had to go back but didn't want to. The crew repaired sledges and slept all day.

At midnight Matt and Peary marched for 10 hours. Peary started out on foot then rode on the sledge.

Matt fell in the Arctic Ocean and was saved by Ootah.

Matt and Peary marched 100 miles since Bartlett left, 35 miles to go.

Matt planted th American Flag at the North Pole.

Matt and Peary went back to Cape Columbia and went home to their family.
