  • Cambrian Period

    (251 MYA)
    First time that multi cell life forms flourished on earth. All the contienents came together to form Pangaea. Verterbrates came into existance.

  • Ordovician Period

    Ordovician Period
    500 MYA - 435 MYA
    Echinderms (starfish,sand dollars)
    Inverterbrates were dominant
    Earliest fish were jawless then they evolved and got jaws

  • Silurian Period

    Silurian Period
    (435 MYA - 395 MYA)
    The earth started changing and cause a Melting of large glacial formations wich made the ocean rise.
    The species included trilobites, graptolites, conodonts, corals, stromatoporoids, and mollusks.

  • Devonian Period

    Devonian Period
    (410 MYA)
    Euroamerica was formed between Europe and america.
    Also Gandwana was formed between South America, Africa, Antarctica, India and Australia.
    ancient sharks,The Bony Fish,coelacanth,The Lung Fish,The Reef Builders

  • Carboniferious Period

    Carboniferious Period
    (359.2MYA to 318.1MYA)
    A few of the plants were giant club mosses, tree ferns, great horsetails, and towering trees with strap-shaped leaves.
    At this time amphibeans started to evolve.

  • Permian Period

    Permian Period
    (299 MYA)
    Mass extinction wiped out 90% of marine species and 70% of land animals. The cause of extinction is unknown but some species evolved to fill the void of the species missing.

  • Triassic Period

    Triassic Period
    (199 MYA)
    The giant ocean called Panthalassa surrounded Pangaea. There was basically no ice because it was so hot. This is the first time that dinosaurs came about and Rodent size mammals.

  • Jurassic Period

    Jurassic Period
    (206 MYA)
    Pangea splits
    The climate is warm and moist
    Belemnites and ammonites were the most important inverterbrates during this period.
    Dinosaurs flourished in the Jurrasstic Period like sauropods,Theropods, and Archaeopteryxs.

  • Creatceous Period

    Creatceous Period
    (144 MYA to 65 MYA)
    The north atlantic oceans was created in this period.
    Godwana split apart.Sea leavels rose because of the split and caused volcanoes to erupt and raise sea levels. New dinosaurs rose in this period like the ceratopsian,ornithischian, triceratops, and the Tyrannosaurus rex. Also flowers came into existance in this period. The KT-Event it was the end of the Creatceous period.

  • Tertiary Period

    Tertiary Period
    (65 MYA)
    This period was the Age of the Mammals begin.
    It was cool from the Tropics To Ice Age. Grass supported grazing animals.The first hominids appeared they are the human ancestors. Birds flourished just as well as the mammals. This period ended with an ice age and th land bridges being formed.

  • Quaternary Period

    (1.8 MYA)
    The Quaternary began with an Ice Age.
    The continents break up to how they are now. It was cooler everywhere on earth. Animals adapt to the new climate. The wooly mammoth, mastodon, wooly rhinoceros, reindeer, and musk ox all developed thick fur to help them survive the cold temperatures. Then Humans adapted and have become the number one mammal.
