Seven day after his house is fire bombed Malcolm was delivering a speech about the Orgainization of Afro-America at Audubon Ballroom. Three men, identified as Black Muslims, shot Malcolm a total of fifteen time in close range. He was pronounced dead on arrival at the Vanderbilt Clinic, Columbia Presbyterian Hospital
