    The shooting
After months of protesting against the taliban, a hired gunman shot malala in the head on October 9, 2012, when she was traveling home from school. No one was hurt, thankfully. Malala gave many speeches to the people of Pakistan that assured them that everything would be O.K and the Taliban did not like that the people had hope for better lives. After Malala was shot, some muslim people living in Mingora rebelled against the government, leaving them no choice but to give their people freedom.

    fighting for women's rights.
Malala is a strict muslim, who lives by the book. In Pakistan, the Taliban has complete control over the people, but not Malala; from birth, she had a feisty personality. Women in her country were seen as objects to be possessed, not valued, so Malala couldn't understand why women couldn't have equal rights as men. She showed the taliban that women mattered. One time, she even showed her character by not wearing a hijab sacred shawl that women wear to show their devotion to the muslim religion.
  • I am Malala

    I am Malala
The best selling book, I am Malala was published on October 8, 2013. One of her quotes in the book are, “We realize the importance of our voices only when we are silenced,” and “When the whole world is silent, even one voice becomes powerful. ”My favorite quote, however is “Let us pick up our books and our pens, they are the most powerful weapons." I just love that quote because I love to write! In Pakistan, most women are owed and not valued, so Malala gave them hope for a better life.

    Nobel peace prize
Malala Yousafzai was awarded the 2014 Nobel Peace Prize on Friday, October 10. She is the youngest Nobel winner in history. She won for her struggle against the suppression of children and young people and for the right of all children to education. Malala stands as a figure of world peace, and women´s rights. It is very hard to stand up for something that you believe in, even if it means that your family is in danger. I know that she was an actovist for girls going to school.

    Conclusion
Malala gives all girls hope for an education when they can't get one. I think that sometimes, I take for granted the easy education that I get daily. However, Malala got shot for going to school even when the Taliban told her not to. Here I am, poking my eye with a pencil to make it seem like I have pink eye, to get out of school, when somebody is getting shot!!!!!!!!! (Just kidding!!!!) Thank you Malala, for being a awesome mentor.
