    After the French and Indian war, the British had helped the American colonies win the war so the British thought the colonists should pay more money for things so the extra money could go to the British army.The act was called the Stamp act because whenever a colonist bought something they had to buy a stamp to prove they bought it.

What started the battle was that the British chose to take two hills, Bunker and Breeds, the American forces went to defend them. The battle was another victory for the British.
