    When Odysseus and his men leave Troy, they go on some unexpected adventures. Odysseus and his men go into battle with the Cicones and they raided the Cicones, killing and robbing people. The Cicones killed 72 of Odysseus men and took the rest out to sea. When Odysseus and the rest of his men leave the Cicones island, they run into the Lotus Eaters.

    Introducing the Lotus Eaters
    Odysseus made it back to his Island safely but he came around Malea and the current took him back to sea. Other things also made him go out to sea even more and past Cythera. Nine days later, Odysseus and his men ran into flowers. The Lotus flowers. They land up on the Lotus Eaters land to take on water.

    The Lotus Eaters flowers and honey
    Odysseus sent two of his men and runner to get a meal for lunch. They went to the Lotus Eaters because they thought the Lotus Eaters weren't harmful. The two men and the runner ate the Lotus eaters honey and soon disappeared and were never heard from again. The Lotus never cared to report nor to to return.

    The Lotus planned to stay forever, hoping others will eat their honey so it could kill them. Odysseus sailed all three of his ships and went to tell people about the Lotus Eaters. He tells the people they would lose hope if they eat the honey of the Lotus Eaters. After Odysseus told them that, he and his men sailed off to another adventure again.
