Kaiser Willhem was the leader of Germany during WWI. He abdicated on November 9, 1918. To abdicate is to give up you position as a leader. This caused World War I to come to an end.

Lloyd was reenlisted in 1921. Lloyd played the cello and was a passionate musician. He played on and off board. He was close with all of his band mates and enjoyed playing music.

In 1925 Lloyd was discharged again. He continued to live life with his wife and kids. He was the last known WWI navy veteran when he died. He died March 29, 2007.
