    eci831 course schedule
Just because of interest in social media and open education, I started a mysterious learning journey with a lot of questions.
    What will it be like?
What will I learn from it?
Can I persist to finish it?
    .....
  • Google+ Blog + Twitter

    Google+ Blog + Twitter
    Google+
The first week, I began to create my social media account to get connected with others. For example: Blackboard conference tool; google+, wordpress blog, and twitter. These are totally new things to me, but I make it.
This week, Rick Schwier gave us a lecture where I learned the knowledge about the history of educational technology and how the technology gradually connected with education.
  • Getting connection with others

    Getting connection with others
    Twitter account
This week, I was gradually used to the social media tools to get connected with others. I started to explore more to learn and share with others. #hashtag, comment, find meaterials to share and learn from others.
I also started to learn French online-Duolingo.
This week, Dave Cormier gave us the lecture of Rhizomatic Learning, which expands my learning thought. We could learn from everything and every people once connecting with them.
  • Blogging

    Blogging

Starting an account is easy, but using it is never an easy job. Through Sue Waters' lecture, I have gained a deep understanding of how to use blog for learning and sharing. Importantly, how can the teachers to use the blogging into education? Teachers aren't the one who control the classroom any more. They are just leading and facilatiting the students.
  • Google Apps

    Google Apps
    Google products
The Michael Wacher's lecture helped me to open the world of Google. Google has become one of the most important things in our daily life. The powerful google apps makes life and education easier. The more teachers that can use google apps in classroom, the more meaning learning outcomes. How can I do better?
  • Maker Culture

    Maker Culture
    Sylvia Martinez
Sylvia Martinez addresses that learning should be based on problem-solving. I can totaly agree with her. During the process of learning EC&I831, I learned a lot of technology skills after solving one-by-one problems. It developed my critical thinking. I think learning as well as being enjoyable is really important for both teachers and students.
  • Digital Identities?

    Digital Identities?
    Bonnie Stewart
Digital identities is not a "unknown" word to every users of technology. People are not alone living in the world and gradually become a part of someone else. To be online, we are not isolated and we are being involved in a social world. What you say and what you do might be influencial to others. Thus, how can we become a "positive" part to the others is really a question worthy thinking for the one online.
  • Catch up day!

    Catch up day!
Life is so busy and learning is so endless. The catch up day gives me a new start to refresh myself. If the days before, I was exploring in ECI831. Then after catch up day, I was moving steps. I began to have a clue what I want to do, not just following. Meanwhile, I also feel that it's a little bit overwhelming to me. This course is so informational and powerful!
  • Digital storytelling...

    Digital storytelling...
    Alan Levine
I don't think I'm not good at story telling, but I do want to be a good story teller. Alan Levine's lecture gave me some ideas to deveop myself to be a good story teller. I especially liked his idea of using pecha flickr into education, which is so interesting.
  • The way of learning French is shifting from online to face-to-face

The way of learning French is shifting from online to face-to-face
This week, I shifted my way of French learning online to face-to-face. It's really beneficial for me, because the tutor helped me to correct my prounoucation.
  • Gender equity and education technology

    Gender equity and education technology
This week, I was struggling in the topic of gender equity and educational technology. Audrey Watters gave the lecture which inspired me to change my mindset. In my mind, the male is still the dominiated one, while the female is the weaker one. Audrey is a brave woman who is chanlleging the domination, which encourages me to change my mindset for equality and aginst descrimination. I'm struggling with this. How can I change and be better one?
  • Networked and Connected learning

    Networked and Connected learning
Regarding the lecture that Alec gave us, I'm thinking that how can I do better in the learning network. I'm thinking the first thing we need to do is to make ourselfves involved in the environment of using technology. We need to be aware of what we are posting at the same time when we are learning from others. Once we can use social media positively, we can lead and teach our children to technology positively.
  • Wrap -up

    Wrap -up
This is the end of the course of EC$I 831, but it's also a new start to my learning journey is still a long way to go. I will continue my way of learning with others and also sharing what I've learned to others.
