  • The Wait Is Almost Over

    The Wait Is Almost Over
Tommorow was the big day. The wait on who would be elected president was one day away. Daddy was very nervous and kept repeating these three words..relief, recovery and reform. At the time i did not know what those words meant but later knew those three words were what gave my father Franklin a big advantage against Herbert Hoover.
  • The Big Day

    The Big Day
Today was the day my life changed darastically. Daddy had won the election. I was now the daughter of the president of the United States of America. Very quickly our family became known to almost the whole world and my family and i had moved all our things from our home in High Park, New York to the famous White House in Washington D.C.

  • Banking Crisis

    Banking Crisis
Everything involving my family was truly amazing, as we were treated as royalty. Many challenges soon came, such as the Banking Crisis. A banking sector had undergone a meltdown leading to the closure of approximately 11,000 different banks. This problem resulted in much anger among the people. My dad was quite worried, for people lost their live savings overnight. Buisnesses shut down leaving many americans unemployed. My father was now struggling with angry people along with economic challenges.
  • Period: to

    Farming

Farming was still damaged by the dust bowl back in the 1920's but my dad still wanted to try his best to help those farmers that lost everything. The Farm Credit Act was passed in March 1933 and refinanced many mortgages in danger of going unpaid. The Frazier-Lemke Farm Bankruptcy Act allowed any farmer to buy back a lost farm at a law price over six years at only one percent interest.
  • Father is Stressed

    Father is Stressed
Dad has been stressed, for his new deal promises of recovery, reform, and relief haven't been succesful. Father knew he had to lead America out of national debt and the challenges he'd face tryng to do so.
  • Civil Works Administration

Daddy created the Civil Works Administration, in which helped create jobs.
  • Banking Solutions

Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC) was established, which helped no further depositeors to loose their insured investments. The FDIC helped give back some money to families that had lost their finances in the crash. Many families were saved or assisted along with the 1,000 banks my father saved.
  • CWA Ended

The Civil Works Administartion had ended, though the unfinished projects were transferred to the Federal Emergency Relief Administration
  • WPA

Father approved the Works Progress Administration in which built many bridges and buildings. Helpful to americvans in transport.
  • Neurality Act

There was a rise of a man named Hitler who seemed to be feared by many people, in the early 1930s. Congress passed a neutrality act dad said to help Europe and Asia work things out.
  • Re- election

    Re- election
Daddy wads re-elected in a landslide to Republican challenger, Kansas Governor Alfred M. “Alf” Landon. I was not too worried this time around since he had alot more voters.
  • Housng Act

Dad attempted to help families with no incomes by introducing The Housing Act by helping with home payments etc.
  • Dad is nervous

Daddy paced back in forth puzzled and nervous to prefrom and introduce the Quarantine Speech in Chicago hoping to call an international "quarantine of the aggressor nations" as an alternative to the political climate of American neutrality and non-intervention that was prevalent at the time. The speech intensified America's isolationist mood. No countries were directly mentioned in the speech, although it was interpreted as referring to Japan, Italy, and Germany.
  • FLSA

Dad proposed the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) of 1938, which created the minimum wage.
  • Lend-Lease agreement

Daddy created the Lend-Lease agreement of 1941 which would commit the US to spending $50 billion on military supplies for the allies. These funds would not have to be paid back after the war.

Japanese attacked Pearl Harbor causing Dad to be very worried for American safety.
