Leonardo Da Vinci was born on April 15th in Vinci, Italy. His father named Piero da Vinci and his mother a woman named Caterina; His parents never married. His father took custody of Da Vinci as his mother moved and married someone else.

At age 15, Leonardo became an apprentice to Verrochio. He worked in his workshop. Da Vinci showed his talent very early in life.

Da Vinci moved to Rome where he took care of a workshop taking on many projects for the Pope. Leonardo continued to study human anatomy and physiology but the Pope did not let him study dead bodies for his research.
