    Some background information on on this battle:
    in the winter of 1449, a small English army, was assembled at Portsmouth. this armys leader was Sir Thomas Kyriell. Kyriell captured Valogens before the French could even concentrate their forces in opposition. As they moved on the went passed Carentan and started towards Bayeux. In the south the Comte de Clermont assembled an army. In the end Kyriell lost about 2,500 men the French only lost around 200 men.

    Leonardo Da Vinci was born in Anchiano, Italy on April 15, 1452. leonardo was an illegitimate son of notary, Vincier Piero, and peasant girl, Caterina. Leonardo became a master painter, engineer, architect, anatomist, inventor and sculptor. "He had unlimited dreams of a god but limited power of a mad" (Thomas 49).

    At 15 Leonardo is sent to Florence to work as apprentice to Andrea De Verrocchio. Verrocchio was shown one of Leonardo's drawings and he was accepted to be his apprentice at once. when Leonardo was an apprentice he was guaranteed to be taught the subject of humanitited nd many artistic trade. When somebody became a apprenctice a oung as he did they were taught everything. He started by mixing colors and paint small parts of paintings.

In this painting there is people surrounding the Virgin and Child. Leonardos work was noteable for the way he tried to express the human emotion in his animals.

    Leonardo was paid by Duke f Milan to constrct a Bronze statue as a tribute to his father. It originally it was goin to be a life size staue of the late Duke of Milan on a horse but he thought it should be bigger so he made it 23 feet tall and weighed 80 tons. but the project was never fully completed. Leonardo spent years studding a horse and had to develope a new casting method to construct this.

    After Christopher Columbus read The Travels of Marco Polo, he felt that he could reach the West Indies by traveling west across the ocean instead of heading east over land.Columbus left Spain on August 3 with three ships: the Pinta, the Niña, and the Santa Maria. He stopped at the Canary Islands and then took five weeks to travel across the Atlantic Ocean before reaching an island in the Bahamas which he called San Salvador.
