Mar 5, 1770 The Boston Massacre British troops shot and killed 5 American colonists. The British had the intention to show that they were not afraid to use force and violence if and when they need to. Dec 16, 1773 Boston Tea Party The American colonists did not agree with the taxes on tea and they were angry and frustrated. The Sons of Liberty went on 3 British ships and dumb 342 crates of British tea into the harbor. Sep 5, 1774 The First Continental Congress 56 delegates from 12 colonies (no except Georgia) met in Philadelphia in response to the Intolerable Act.
