    The U.S. sucessfully detonates the world's first atomic bomb at the Trinity Test site in the desert of New Mexico. The Trinity Test occured at 5;29n a.m. with the power equivalent to 19,000 tons of TNT.

    The 1st Atomic Bomb
    The 1st Atomic Bomb to be used as a weapon is dropped on Hiroshima, Japan. At approximately 8;15 a.m. and nicknamed Little Boy. The bomb was released from a B-29 bomber plane Enola Gay, and piloted by Brigadier General Paul Tibbets. It exploded 2,000 ft above ground, killing 80,000 people instantly

    Three days after the 1st atomic bomb detonated over Hiroshima, the U.S. dropped another atomic bomb over Nagasaki, Japan. Forcing an end to World War 2. It was estimated that 75,000 people were killed immediately.
