Trojan war Summary

The Trojan war started because men fought over the most beautiful goddess in the world,Helen. Helen was suddenly kidnapped by Paris because he was promised her as an prize. Paris worked for Troy so he basically was the cause the war besides Helen. After 10 years of fight the war Helen finally got to go home.

After 10 long years of the Greeks and Troy’s over Helen, the Greeks won. The only reason Paris kidnapped Helen is because he was working for Troy. But even though Helen was the most beautiful goddess in the world she shouldn’t have been promised an prize. Odysseus was apart of the Trojan war because he builds and filled Greeks in the Trojan horse. He was also on the Troy’s side but he left being known as an hero.

Lotus-eaters Analysis

The lotus eaters was based upon a flower that was dangers to people. In a more dangerous way that whoever ate the flower wouldn’t be able to get home. “Who showed no will to do us harm”. People who ate the flower wouldn’t care to report, nor return, forgetful of their homeland.

The lotus eaters started when Odysseus picked two man and a runner to learn what is a race of men thats land sustained. The men’s soon fell in with the lotus eaters and who seen the lotus eaters wouldn’t have any will to do them harm. There were 2 types of lotus the kind that the lotus eaters gave to Odysseus men which Is the sweet kind. The other kind of lotus is honeyed plant which the lotus would mostly forget where they came from and you wouldn’t even return home.

Cyclops Analysis

Cyclops Isn’t like any other goddess he his more like a monster. But even though people refer him as a giant he still care about other’s like when he didn’t want Odysseus and his men to go back to Zeus. But it could take a turn with him because he captured Odysseus and his men and put them in his cave. Anyways He doesn’t really do anything besides his chores and he doesn’t really talk to anyone so he talks to lambs and young goats.

Cyclops Summary

An Cyclops is a race of a one eyed giant.
Cyclops the son of Polyphemus was well know for his strength and being one of the most disliked. Cyclopes doesn’t care really care what Zeus rules are so he wouldn’t let Odysseus and his men go back to him. “We Cyclopes care not a whistle for your thundering Zeus”. So it seems like he doesn’t get along with other people so he called kids young goats and he would separate lambs as if they were different age groups.

Aeolus- Bag of Wind. Summary

Aeolus is the guardian of the winds. When Odysseus and his men arrived to the island of Aeolus he greeted them to two gifts. One of the gifts was a bag of wind and the other is blowing them back towards Ithaca, but the men opened the bag of wind and blew back to Aeolus. “ Aeolus gives Odysseus two parting gifts, a fair west wind blowing the ships towards ithca and a great bag holding all unfavorable stormy wind.”

Aeolus is on of the most greeting gods. He greeted Odysseus and his men to some gifts. One gift as which made the other useless. Aeolus gave Odysseus and his men a bag of wind and he also blew them back to Ithaca. But it’s seems like blowing them back to Ithaca wouldn’t be greeting, it would be more like them not being wanted.

Circe Summary

Circe had an beautiful voice but as she got closer to knowing some men sneaked into her castle she began to show her evil side. When she seated them she only greeted them to some cheese and wine but she put something in the wine to make the to forget their home land. She made the men drunk and they still tried to make a way and escape from her but she turned them into pigs. “ scarce had they drunk when she flew when she flew after them with her long stick and shut them into pigsty”.

Circe Analysis

Circe is a goddess and enchantress that lives on the island of aeaea. Anyways even though Circe seemed nice she really isn't. But even thought the men snuck into her cave she didn’t have to be rude about it. She got Odysseus men drunk and turned them into pigsty and got Odysseus drunk and tried to make him fall in love with her.

Sirens Analysis

Sirens could be compared to circe because they both used they voice for evilness. Sirens used their voice to lure sailors to their death and Circe used her voice to lure Odysseus men into her cave. But a difference that they have is the way they used they’re voice because Circe used her voice to get to Odysseus. But the sirens used they’re voice to kill sailors.

Sirens Summary

Sirens was a woman that was mixed with bird but then she turned into a mermaid, she song to lure people into their own death. Sirens had a beautiful voice but she used it distract people. One person that almost got lured by the sirens is Odysseus. “The lovely voice in ardor appealing over the water made me crave to listen, and I tried to say untie me”.

Scylla and Charybdis Summary

Scylla is one of the crazies six headed sea monster and every time a ships passes her she eats somebody head off. The only reason why Scylla is a sea monster is because glaucus was In love with her and Circe wanted to punish her. Charybdis is known for being the most dangerous whirlpool that would suck you’re ship down and basically turn into a tornado. With Scylla is the reason that Charybdis happens because when she come up from the water the whirlpool starts to form.

Scylla and Charybdis Analysis

Scylla only ended up as a six headed sea monster because Circe was jealous because glaucus was in love with Scylla. Anyways Things could end up bad if you end up sailing next to Scylla and Charybdis. Scylla would either bite you’re head off and Charybdis would suck you up in the whirlpool. Scylla is the reason that Charybdis happens is because when she gets angers the whirlpool starts to form.

Helios’ cattle Summary

The Helios cattle also named the oxen of the sun has a total of 700 animals on it. There are seven big groups of oxen also seven big groups of sheep’s. The ship was named the oxen of the sun because Helios was the leader of the ship and also there were a lot of oxen.
While Odysseus crew mates ate the cattle Helios began to get mad at Zeus but what they didn’t notice is that the dead cattle was still moving and making noises.

The ship was based off helios because he’s like the sun good and it was based off the oxes.When Helios let Odysseus and his men join him on the trip to island of Thrinacia on his cattle his men took advantage. His men ate most of his animals with no punishment. But as the men were eating the cattle’s/animals they weren’t really dead they probably were like zombies.

Suiters/Home Summary

While Odysseus was gone from his wife for 20 years the suiters wanted to become friendly with Penelope. Their goals was to go into Odysseus house and persuade Penelope to marry one of them.
So Odysseus had a reason to kill them because he let them go to his house and they ate all his food also they’ve been harassing Penelope and her son for years. They’ve been bothering Penelope for years because Odysseus was gone for 20 years and it confused them.

Suiters/Home analysis

The suiters had it coming to them of what they were doing to Penelope. Even though a couple isn’t leaving together or always with each other it doesn’t mean that they aren’t together. Odysseus tried to show his kindness to the suiters with allowing them to stay in his house while he’s gone but they too advantage of him. The suiters are know for being rude and disrespectful as they’ve ate all Odysseus food in his house and they’ve harassed Penelope and Telemachus for all the time they been there.
