Newborns are born with the ability to cry and hear the mothers voice.

At about 1-4 months the baby starts to smile, frown, coo, and little giggles. Some even start recognizing the sound of their own name.

At ages 5-7 months, they start to learn more single syllables; like 'ma' and 'da' producing into Mommy and Daddy.

During 7-8 months they start to babble in a longer tone. Babbling more words and more syllables.

8-12 monts babies start making the grunting noise and start speaking gibberish. Putting random words into sentences that don't make sense to us. They string together different words and starts point at objects.
