    Federation of Organized Trade and Labor Union
    The Federation of Oganized Trade and Labor Union (FOTLU) was formed.
  • The American Federation of Labor

    The American Federation of Labor
    The FOTLO changed its name to the American Federation of Labor (AFL). The person who was in charge was Samuel Gompers. Gompers believed that by organizing skilled craft workers, the working class had the most to gain.
  • The Haymarket Square Riot

    Anarchist planned a rally in Haymarket Square which ended in violence. This came to be known as the Haymarket Square Riot.
  • The Pullman Strike

    George Mortimer Pullman, made a city where his railroad workers were required to live in. This city was in bad conditions. Also Pullman would deduct in their pay in order to pay for the city and would treat them unjustly. This caused the workerst to stike.
