  • The soldiers make fun of Hassan.

a soilder states,"i knew your mother, did you know thtat? I knew her real good. I took her from behind the creek over there"(Hosseini 7). This event is signifigant because Hassan never knew his mother, when he was born she took off, and refused to even touch him, so Hassan must have been embarrased because this could be one of the only thing he knows about his mother. Furthermore, Hassan shoulnd't hear about his mothr in this way because he never knew her and this is a bad way of fiding out.

  • Hassan getting raped

"Assef knelt down behind hassan, put his hands on hassan's hips and lifted his bare buttox"(Hossieni 75), implying that assef is raping hassan. This is one of the most important parts of the book because, it effected Hassan so much, that he never smiled afain. Furthermore, Hassan was so violated that it effects his behavior in the rest of the book.
  • Amir watching Hassan getting rapes and not dooing anything.

Amir states,"in the end, i ran,"(hoissieni 77). This quotation is showing how Amir watched Hassan getting raped from a distance but didn't do anything about it. • Amir runining him and Hassans relationship

Amir says"for a week, i barely saw Hassan"(Hosseini 80) . This quotations is showing how amir's actions runied him and his so called best frinds relationship. • Amir asking if they are going to get new servants.

Amir asks baba,"have you ever thought of getting new servants"(hosseini 90). this is showing that Amir doesn't want to be around Hassan anymire because the guilt is to much for him to handle.
