In 1964, "Hassan's mother, Sanaubar, gave birth to him" (6). At this point of the book all we know is that Hassan's father is Ali, and his mother is Sanaubar. This description helps to catch the reader off guard for later.

In 1967, "Germans bulit a hydro plant for afghanistan" (111). This event gives the reader a brieft history on Afghanistan. It also shows who were Afghanistans alies.

In the late 1960's, "Baba decided to build an orphanage"(13). Baba's decision to build an orphanage is very important in the book because it forshadows later events. It also gives the reader an idea od Baba's personality.

In 1973, "[Amir] played another trick on Hassan" (30). the word another means that Amir has played multiple tricks on Hassan. This event forshadows how their relationship will end.

In the winter of 1975," Amir agha...won" the kite flying tournament (66).Amir won the kite tournament but after the win, Hassan went to go find the other kite. This event forshadows the event that is about to happen in the alley

In 1975 Assef, "trap[ed] Hassan in the alley," and absed him (73). THis event is the turning point in the book becuase after this Hassan and Amir's relationship goes down hill. This event made the rest of the book.

Hassan, "turned thirteen" in the "summer of 1976" (93). This quote shows the reader hom much older Amir is and that he has matured. This makes the reader think Amir will act differently.

At Amir's thirteenth birthday party, "Assef [came] with his parents" (95). This event makes the reader very angery, because of what happened to Hassan. It also helps to reader to know Amir better, because they get to see hoe he will react.

In 1980 Baba and Amir were, "living in America" (125). This quote explains to the reader that Baba and Amir made it to America alive. It also opens a new chapter in Amir's life, and is a mojor turing point in the story.

In the summer of 1983, " [Amir] graduated from highschool" (131). This quote is important because it shows hoe much Amir has grown. It also shows that Amir is almost an adult and he starts to make his own decisions.

In 1984 Baba introduces Amir to, "General Taheri" (138). This quote is important because the Taheri family will be a part of Amir's life forever. Their family changes Amir's life for the best.

At the spring quater Amir, "aced all of [his] general education classes (144). This quote is important because it shows how smart Amir is. Amir's intelligence will help him later in the book

In 1986 Amir, "went to Hazarajat to find Hassan" (202). This quote shows that Amir has not forgotten about Hassan, and that their relationship can be revived. This part of the story starts a series of challenges the Amir has to overcome.

In 1988 Amir, "finished his first novel" (182). This quote brings the reader back to Amirs childhood when he loved writing. It shows that Amir has found his true love, and it is writing.
