  • The Taliban Takeover

    The taliban grew out and were done with all the drama and so they stand up as a group and they fight back against al queda.

  • The Soviet Union Invasion and after.

    Afghanistan was very stable, and they were going in the buisness for there turmoil and extremismn that have dominated its history. Soviet troops in the war caused about 15,000 to be dead. Soviet parachutted into Kabul to assist Babrak Karmal president in a coup within afghanistan communty.

  • Soviet Union attacks Afghanistan

    The Soviet union attacked afghanistan becuase they wanted to show them that they have more power over all the other parts of Afhanistan and wanted to rule them.

  • 9/11

    Osama Bin laden teamed up with the al queda to set up a terroist act on the twin towers in NYC to make america devistaed. He flew 2 747s into the twin towers to destroy them all

  • The taliban resurgence

    the taliban were defeated but they made a wage with the al queda and then they used it for gurilla warfare anf then made more and more weapons

  • Afhanistan Overview

    United states has been military involved in Afghanistan since 2001. after the 9/11 attack by al queda we decided to go to war aginst them. We were fighting for our freedom and safety because they could attack us at any time.

  • The Karzai Goverment

    Hamid Karzai, supporter and relative of Mohommad Zahir Shan, the exiled former afghanistan, was named chairmen of an intermn goverment that replaced the deafeat of taliban.

  • Obamas War

    Obama had a plan to widen out the involvment of the US in the war to shape a good communism while military was fighting in Iraq. Also afghanistans across the region. Obama announces his plan to add 30,000 additional troops.

  • Obama stand on it

    Obama has been trying to figure out this problem with the war going on. He has raised money on the war so that we can buy more and more weapons for the war.

    Afghanistan the offical islamic republic of afhanistan has not had any or little peace in their country t=due to the 9/11 post attack.

  • Baba sleeps with Ali's wife

    Baba sleeps with alis wife it shows that baba kinds of turns on ali so he kind of back stabbed him in his own ways. It shows that he may not have anymore trust in him anymore. Then later on they figure out that he makes the nephew of ali.

  • Baba begs Ali to stay with him

    Baba beg Ali to stay with him and not to go to america by himself because of all the events happening. Its shows that baba has lost all respect for himself and is kind of bowing down to ali to make him stay. But after sleeping with his wife he loses his respect and he leaves to america.

  • Hassan and Amir throwing the plums

    When Hassan and amir are playing with the plums throwing them at each other when amir hits hassan with the plum he just stops what he is doing and realizes that maybe that him and amir arent the sam ekind of people and that hassan is loyal and amir takes it for granite.

  • Amir narrates the book

    Amir is narrating the book so he is telling all of his past events that have happened to which have led up to. He is giving all the events from the good and the bad events that have happened to him.He is very descriptive to what happens in each event.

  • Assef rapes Hassan

    Assef rapes Hassan because hassan does not give assef the blue kite he won at the kite tournament. Assef thinks he has more power over hassan because he is just sexually assulting him over the kite. As hassan best friend amir is just watching him getting raped it shows that they may not have a strong relationship.

  • Hassan shoots assefs eye out

    Hassan shoots assefs eye out with his sling shot. It shows a power shift happening. From where hassan gets raped by assef and now it shows that hassan has more power now because he is taking over control over him because he shoots his eye out. Its a big power shift.

  • assef wants revenge on amir

    assef wants to put revenge on amir because of all the times for what he has done to him. When he gets shot in his eye he says he wnats to put revenge on amir for what he has done and by that it shows what a coward he is.

  • sahrub trie to commit suicide

    Sohrab tries to commit suicide because he is over whelmed by everything he is now starting to know and what he is figuring out. He is tired of finding all these new secrets about him and all his family members. sohrab does not fully forgive amir.

  • "For you a thousand times more"

    This basically means that at the end of the book when they are flying the kites he basically says sorry and would do anything to help him or basically help him for what ever he needs. He is putting the trust back in him that he could not sustain while they were friends in the beginning.

  • After they come back from america

    Once they come back from america a month ago that is when the towers had fallen. And now the americans have invaded afghanistan. They realize what had happened and are starting not to like whats happening. At the end they celebrate the afghanistan new year and they fly the kites and they make all their traditonal dishes.

  • The atonnement

    In the book their is a lot of atonning in the book. Their are a lot of events where people are doing things to get themselves atonned or for them to get atonned. It is a big part of the book because it makes relationships ruiened and makes people turn on each other which affects the events in the book.

  • Amir's regrets

    There is a lot of things that amir is not telling hassan and ali. They have been pretty close to him his whole life especially hassan. Amir has all the secrets to tell about them but doesnt open up his mouth to tell them. He spoke with a lady at the flea market and he kept saying that he wishes that he was that open like the lady he had spoken to.

  • Baba and his I.D.

    When baba goes into the store to purchase what he had planned to buy he gets really offended when the store clerk ask him for his ID. He wasnt use to that back in afghanistan because he had a lot of power to where now in america he doesnt have that power at all because no one knows him at all besides hassan. He feels like he is treated way different then everybody else.

  • Baba and Hassan go to america

    When they go to america they know that things will be different because it is so much different than afghanistan. They know no one will be the same because they dont know anyone in america so thats why they have different opinons on it. Hassan likes it because he feels like baba doesnt have that much power over him now because their in america.
