King Henry VIII Takes the Throne

He was the the son of Henry VII and Elizabeth York, and was born at Greenwich Palace on June 28, 1491. He had six siblings, but only three survived; Margaret, Mary and Arthur. At the age of 17, he married Catherine of Aragon who was originally married to the 15 year old Aruthr, but after Arthur died, Henry's and Catherine's marriage was arranged.

This act was a legislation that gave the king (King Henry VIII) royal supremacy. This paper basically said that the king was now the supreme head of the Church of England. The paper stated that: "The English crown shall enjoy all honors, dignities, preeminences, jurisdictions, privileges, authorities, immunities, profits, and commodities to the said dignity."
