    To generate more money, Parliament passes the Stamp Act which required Americans to pay tax on every piece of printed paper used.Legal documents, licenses, newspapers, brochures, and playing cards were taxed.

    Under the law, the colonist had to give housing and food to the British soldiers. The British forced the colonist to accept it because they were protecting the colonists from the French. The colonists did not consider the French a threat and did not like the idea of paying for the British protection.

    Colonists were angered by the Stamp Act. The colonists did not like being taxed fought until the act was repealed. On February 21, a resolution to repeal the Stamp Act was passed by a vote The King gave royal approval on March 18, 1766.

    This placed a tax on paper, paint, lead, glass, and tea that were imported into the colonies. These were items that were not produced in North America and due to the Navigation Acts, the colonists were only allowed to buy from Great Britain.

    Colonists boycott British goods until the Townshend Acts are repealed on this day. All the taxes are repealed except for the tea tax. King George III does this to show, that even though he is listening to the colonists he still has the authority to tax them whenever he feels like it,

    This event changed the mind of all the colonists. Mostly all of the colonists were on board with the idea of rebelling against Britain. King George III began to truly understand the revolution that was forming.

    There were multiple parts to the Intolerable Acts-
    1.The King closed Boston Harbor to everything but British ships.
    2.British Officials could not be tried in colonial courts for crimes.
    3.There would no more self-government in Boston.
    4.The colonists had to house and feed the British troops.
    5.This bill extended the Canadian borders to cut off the western colonies of Connecticut, Massachusettes and Virginia.

    General Burgyone surrendered to the american troops. This battle was the turning point for the Patriots, and it led to their alliance with France. This was when King George III started to sense that they were going to lose the war.
