    This was before the Khmer empire, Jayarvarman II united the Khmer empire and freed them all from the rule of “Java” (exact location of “Java” not certain).

    Jayarvarman II becmame the king under Hindu rights as "devaraja" or king-god. This also dates the beginnig of the Khmer Empires long reign in South-East Asia

    Due to the death of Jayravarman II, Jayarvarman II came to power to fill the role of king

    Rajendravarman builds Banteay Srei Temple.

    Jayarvarman VII was known as the best king to rule during the Khmer empire because he expanded the empire to its largest extent by incorporating regions of present-day Laos, Burma, and Thailand;he follows Mahayana Buddhism and begun building the city of Angkor Thom with the Bayon Temple.
