    Melbourne is founded by John Batman and John Pascoe Fawkner in 1835, 47 years after the European settlement of Australia.This is an importance to Melbourne's history as if we weren't be known as Melbourne, we would not be recognised for our Arts and Culture, and our fine cafes and restaurants.

    William Lonsdale built the first government block, declaring Melbourne the capital of the Port Phillip district. This is signifcant to Melbourne history as it is a turning point in Melbourne and it has given importance to the the development of the city.

    Rialto Towers completed and becomes the city's tallest building as well as the tallest in the southern hemisphere in 1986. This is an important part of our history as it was the tallest building tower in Australia, and was the tallest building in the Southern Hemisphere during 1985 - 2004.

    Victorian bushfires around Melbourne occured on the 7th of Feburary 2009. This was a key part of Melbourne's history as it was the worst fires in the history of the city. A lot of homes were lost, as well as lifes. This event was called, 'Black Saturday.'

    On the 9th of August 2029, Melbourne run out of Fossil Fuels. As a result, we would not have electricity to power our homes, and fuel for our cars to travel.
