Jonas Salk was born October 28, 1914, his parents were Daniel and Dora Salk. He was the oldest of three kids.( Jonas is located on the very left).

Only when Salk was 12 he went to high school! Jonas Salk was exceptionally good at school.

Salk went to the city of New York College to earn his M.D.

Jonas Salk married Donna Lindsay, a social worker.

Salk went to the University of Michigan to help the professor of bacteriology(the study of bacteria that creates diseases).

Jonas Salk went to the University of Pittsburgh to study polio.

Jonas Salk created a vaccine and started testing it on children.

April 12, 1955, the official polio vaccine was released to the public.

In 1962 there were less than one thousand people with polio!

In 1963 Jonas Salk established his own research organization known as the Salk Center for Biological Studies. ( Which is still open till today)!

From 1972- 1973 Jonas Salk wrote 2 books with his son. The first one he wrote was Man Unfolding, the second was Survival of the Wisest.
