    The Enabling Act of 1933
    The Enabling Act was an amendment to the German Constitution that was virtually the "peak" of Hitler's rise to power. This act allowed Hitler to assume dictatorial powers without legal objections. This allowed Hitler to start using his power to set up his plans to empower Germany, which would ultimately lead to WW2.
  • Russia and Germany Sign a Pact

    Russia and Germany Sign a Pact
    Russia and Germany sign a nonaggression pact and publicly declare that they would not fight each other. This saves Germany from risking a two front war when they start their invasion plans and anger the Allies.
  • Invasion of Poland

    Invasion of Poland
    Germany invades and conquers Poland. This is an important point in time because this is the official starting point of WW2.
  • Hitler Invades Europe

    Hitler Invades Europe
    Hitler makes bolder attacks against the Allies by invading Belgium, France, the Netherlands and Luxembourg. After Germany succeeds in all of these invasions, Britain is left standing alone against Germany for this time period.
  • The US Enters the Picture

    The US Enters the Picture
    Adolf Hitler declares war on the United States. He had overestimated Japan's strength and believed that Japan would be able to defeat the U.S. with Germany's help and then help Germany defeat Russia. This is an important time period because Hitler had overestimated his war effort's ability to cope with this new enemy.
  • Battle of Stalingrad

    Battle of Stalingrad
    This was battle became one of the brutal battles in the entire war. The end results were a disaster for the Germans. Their enitre sixth army had been defeated and captured. This was considered a point in the war where the Allies gained the upper hand.
  • D-Day

    D-Day
    Known as one of the greatest military invasions in history. It can be considered "the beginning of the end" of World War 2 as Germany starts to get pushed back.
  • End of World War 2

    End of World War 2
    Germany starts to surrender and the second World War comes to a close. This marks the end of World War 2 in the European Theatre.
