  • 0-1: Sensory Motor Period

    0-1: Sensory Motor Period
At 9 months old I began crawling and at 13 months I began walking. This is an example of me being able to control my limbs. When I started eating solid food, I would throw it off of my highchair and think that it disappeared until my sister or parents picked it back up. This was due to object permanence. I began babbling but did not form any real words.

    1-2: Sensory Motor Period
I said my first word "dada" at around 13.5 months old. I did not act out when my parents left me as long as I had my older sister with me. However, I was reserved when introduced to new adults. This correlates to stranger anxiety and how little it effected me. My favorite toy was Sophie the Giraffe because of her squeak. This is because at this stage all senses are used to explore and I liked to use my auditory functions the most.
