As the Christian influence began to spread, Hideyashi attempted to put a stop to it by having 26 Christians crucified at Nagasaki.

Christianities and missionaries forced out of Japan by the government. At this point of time, about 300,000 renounced their Christianity as a result of procecution. It is estemated that about 3,000 Christians were executed, but many remained strong in beliefs and worshipped privtely.
