Japan targets China because China has been weakened by the civil war the occured. Six years later they attacked the East China which concluded in the Chinese government retreating further west. -

War in the Pacific
The United States cut off trade from Japap which angered the Japanese. The Japanese went to the Pacific ocean and bombed Pearl Harbor in Hawaii. This was a big loss for Japan because that is where the U.S. kept most of their military supplies and armies. -
Atomic Bomb
The Japanese refused to surrender so the U.S militray decided to drop the first atomic bomb. This was the first atomic bomb to ever be used in history. Russia had made the first atomice and so had many other countries but this was the first time ever being used. -
New Government
A new democratic constitution starts and women are allowed to vote. -
American occupation at its end
America leaves the Japanese to rule again after the Japanses sign a treaty. Afterwards Japan had a more american style government and education system,
