Jun 21, 2008 the next generation which was the 2nd, was released on june 21. 2010 it was then holding more memory and looking better Aug 26, 2009 then the third one was created on aug 26, 2011 Sep 9, 2010 the forth was just reasontly realesed on its the most advanced ipod we have so far Sep 5, 2012 the next ipod which is the 5th generation, is suppose to be realeased sometimes this year.
