  • Versailles treaty was signed

    The treaty of Versailles was made and it punished Germany. They were forced to give land to neighboring countries such as France, Belgium, Denmark, and Poland. Also, they were not allowed to unite with Austria. Also, Germany had to have a limited army. One restriction was the number of soldiers they could have which was only 100,000. Germany was forced to lose all of their colonies. Many Germans hated the Treaty of Versailles. This led to WWII because it left Germans very mad.
  • League of Nations

    The league of nations was made. It was the first World wide security organization. Germany and Soviet Russia were not allowed in. The United States chose not to join. The League of Nations believed that Aggressive war was a crime and very controversial. Today, present day version of the League of Nations is the United Nations.
  • Communist International

    The Comintern was able to split European socialist parties and establish Communist parties in each country. It was founded in Moscow Russia. The Comintern was intended to overthrow the international bourgeoisie and create an international Soviet republic. This led to WWII because some countries could have seen the Comintern as a threat.
  • Fascism in Italy

    Mussolini had become the prime minister of Italy. Mussolini had not gained full power until 1929. His regime later became one many countries looked up to. This led to WWII because Mussolini was a leader who led a powerful country.

    Hopeful years

    This was an era where European relations witness agreements that later ease reparation payments. Also, in this time period, Germany was admitted in the League of Nations. These hopeful years were years where many people could not comprehend another war. Many people believed that World War One was the war to end all wars. This led to World War Two because people started to believe that another war was possible and could be soon.
  • Stalin gains power in Russia.

    Stalin successfully gets rid of his rivals. Also, Stalin's power eventually brings forced industrialization, a brutal police force, and also there were purges. Stalin made plans to turn his country Into an industrial marvel. He brought the economy under government control and forced people to work on collectives which many people disapproved of. This led to WWII because Stalin gained power and contributed to WWII starting.
  • Great Depression

    The United States stock market crashed and greatly affected many places outside the US. Europe also had a depression but at this point it was almost over with. In Europe the depression caused the rises of everyrhing. Also depression in the US and Europe caused a major work shortage and there were not many jobs available. This affected many citizens of countries affected. The depression led to WWII because this affected many countries and some could have been aggressive
  • Japanese invasion on Manchuria

    Japan begins undeclared war on China in Manchuria. There were attempts to hold back the Japanese by the League of Nations but that failed. Manchuria was invaded by the Kwantung army and they established a puppet state there and used it until World War Two was over. This event led to World War Two because Japan started to make enemies.
  • The Third Reich

    Hitler had become the chancellor of Germany. In short time, Hitler leading the Nazi party have full power of Germany. Hitler had turned Germany into a Totalitarian form of government. He used terror to enforce conduct and to make sure people followed the rules. Hitler also had a strong feeling that Nazis were a master race and he also had prejudice towards the Jews. The third Reich led to World War Two after Hitler gained power when people saw how dangerous the Third Reich was.
  • Germany isolates themselves

    The Third Reich left the disarmament conference and The League of Nations. Germany was starting to become more of a worry to other countries and they were starting to become Isolated. This led to WWII because people started to think of Germany as a threat and what they did was suspicious.
