The Treaty of Versailles is signed officially ending World War 1, and putting all blame on Germany. The Germans were quite upset with this treaty for a number of reason. The Germans actually didn't believe they started they war, but rather Russia did. They also faced a huge reduction in their military, weren't allowed to join the League of Nations, had to pay millions in damages, and all they're colonies and land were given/divided into other countries.

The League of Nations was established and met for the first time in Switzerland. The US was notably missing because they wouldn't join until a few years later. It was originally created to keep peace but ultimately and horribly failed.

January 30, 1933, President Hindenburg appointed Hitler chancellor of Germany. This was a major win for the Nazi party as they now had heavy political influence and also were incredibly favored by the people.
