    The signing of the Treaty of Versailles ended world war 1. The controversial War Guilt clause blamed Germany for World War I and imposed heavy debt payments on Germany.

    An international organization created by many of the Allied nations after WWI. The USA and USSR refused to join.

    Mussolini declared that only he could restore order and was given the authority in 1922 as prime minister. He gradually dismantled all democratic institutions.
