First Day of School
Hand out syllabus and go over all aspects.
Talk about the class: books, projects, tests, essays, vocab, etc.
Discuss what is expected of students in this class.
Have the students fill out contact cars:
Name, Email, Phone #, Favorite Subject, Book, their Goal of the Year, and what they believe to be their weakest skill in English.
Ice Breaker: To help learn student name, get students talking to each other, and figure out potential groups students might form. -
Ice Breaker: What book, movie or video have you seen/read recently you would recommend? Why?
Pick up English text book and The Odyssey from library
Give background knowledge on the Iliad, Greek Gods, and back stories on the characters in the Odyssey.
