  • Coal disvovered

    In 1791, Europeans first discovered "coal" in Australia. The fiirst coal mine established in NSW near the Hunter River in 1801.
  • Coal development and trades

    In Newcastle, Australia started permenant coal trades to other places. Later on coal was a good sunstance of making salt. This caried on into 1808.
  • Steam began to be used in machinery

    in 1813, the first made steam engine was shipped to NSW for a colony. The first steam engine was installed by John Dickson.
  • Textile Indusrty establishment

    Simeon Lord established a mill to dye, and and for dress cloth from the Female Factory in Parramata.

    Improved steam engines created in 1825, 1826 and 1829.
  • Steam engines spreaded

    By 1831, 6 steam engines were made and one of them was held in the Australian Coalmine Company in Newcatle.

    7 woolen mills were created and in 1841 most people were dressed in tweeds made from the mill in Parramata.

    By 1840, railway trackes have been built more around the country which helped farmers to sell there crops to consumers by this transportaion.

    In NSW, Sydney Railway Company built the first railway track. It ran from Sydney to Parramata with a distance of 22 km

    Steam engines moved to Ballarat to mine for gold in the Gold Rush.

    Woolen cloth had reach 235 000 yards per annum.
  • Railway lines establishment

    The first railway line was establishined in Melbourne, Australia 1854.
  • Steam engine growth

    13 engines made in 1855, 135 in 1858 and 342 in 1861.
  • Textile industry wooven in prison

    Studies have shown that that this has been made in "Pentridge Prison" in 1867.
  • Australian Textile Industry

    This benefited from the weavering machinery created in Britain. The first cloth woven was produced by Victorian Woolen and Cloth Manufacturing Company
  • Big price for Launceston

    In Launceston, a mill had been created. Luckily they won 1000 pounds as a prize from the Tasmanian Colonial Government for the first woolen goods manufactured in the colony.
  • Iron and Steel second attempt

    Another attempt began by the Victorian Iron Company. Later this company was called the Lal Lal Iron Mining Co.
  • Railways in QLD

    The first railway track made in QLD was in Ipswich in 1875.
  • Textile Industry increase in Women Labour

    These women were paid a very low amount for their work. Employment increased by 1000 in 1877.
  • Iron and steel not earning any economics

    The smelting plant was non economical and was closed in 1877.

    Charles Rasp discovered tin in Western NSW "Broken Hill". This made the Broken Hill Ming Company established by seven men.
