The Indian national congress was formed in 1885. The congress was the biggest Indian public organization and had a big influence on the Indian Independance movement.

At this time British toyed with the idea of Indias self government, but never gave it to them. The British MP's were against giving anything government related to the Indians. Reforms were then slowly introduced and some riots broke out.

In 1919 the Goverm\nment of India act was introduced. India was allowed to have 2 houses for national parliment, 5 million of the wealthist Indiains were now allowed to vote, and other things but the British were still in control on everything.

Mahatma Gandhi leads with 78 people following him, and march down the town of Dandi on the Arabian Sea. Here they were rebelling against the British Salt law, and started making salt from the sea water.
