The Treaty of Versailles
the signing of the Treaty of Versailles was supposed to bring peace between the allied powers and Germany. this treaty demanded compensationa by germany for all the damage they brought, so the treaty took about 10 percent of its land and population. they gave most of this land back to France, poland, belgium and denmark.the Germans were not happy about this and beleived it was dictated to them and it wrecked there economy. this stuck wiht them and made them mad, they were never happy about it. -
Nazi Party
they were known as natinal scocializm. when hitler was named chancler by president paul von hindenburgh he used his position to solidify the nazi position in the government. and in july it was declared to be the only political party in Germany. doing this made germany even more powerful, it was more popular then ever and had many supporters who were all for it and wanted to fight for their country -
the fuehrer
when hitler became the fuehrer he gained tons of power. the people would great him with "heil hitler". in germany he ws a very feard and respected man, what he said went, like everyone one but the aryian race shouold be gone. people went with it and it made them mad, the whole country wanted the jews, gypses, pols and everyone who wasnt them to go. -
Axis Power
Mussolini, Hitler, and spain team up. this is known as the axis power, this was the start of hitlers world domination plan. this made his plans more doable and he was able to do more and have more power in order to carry through with his plans. -
Britain and France declare war
hitler send his tanks and his airforce to take over poland, this resulted Great Britian and France to declare war on Germany. France and Britain had agreed to defend poland agaisst any german attack, so they gave hitler an ultamadium to either withdraw his troops or they wouold declare war. -
Tripartite Pact
Germany, Italy, and Japna sign a pact to join forces, it strengthend the Axis power. it was seen as a warning to that United States they would all defend one another if one of them were to be attacked. -
USS Greer
after the lend lease bill came out the germans began to sink and american and british supply ship in the atlantic. this made many of the americans very mad and the US told all navey to fire at any german ship -
Pearl Harbor
yamomoto advise striking the us closer to home and attak the navel base at pearl harbor, thats exacly what he did. 2403 people lost there lives that day. america really took that to heart and mad many mad they wanted to fight for there country. the next day the US declares war agaist japan and enters the second world war. -
D-day
175,00 allied forces came ashore and almost 4,000 of them were either killed or wounded. because of this signifigent battle it turned the tides of control over german occupied frace. if the USA and the allies didnt win we probaly wuld have lost the war,but this battle really changed our course. -
Hiroshima
the first nuclear wepon made and droped over these two major cities in japan, they gave them a choice to surrender and they did not. even though it brouth a lot of death it helped us win the war and stopped a lot of US lives being taken.
