    The meeting of the first Pan-African conference was on July 24th, 1900. During the first Pan-African conference the Mandates Commission was made. The mandates Commissionsaid that, in brief, that the Allied and Associated Powers establish a code of law for the protection of native Africans and that the Leauge of Nations establishes a bureau that oversees the enforcement of the these laws. This is important to African history because it alllows more Africans protection.

In conclusion, Nigeria had overcome a large challenge of breaking free from Great Britain's rule and setting up a government.

Jamhuri Day is the independence day for Kenya where they celebrate their freedom from Great Britain. This is important to African history because it is a major event and a large accomplishment for Kenya.     On Feb 11th, 1990 Nelson Mandela was freed from jail. Nelson Mandela was in jail for 27 years. He was the leader of many protestors that helped end the apartheid. He also introduced the idea of boycotting white businesses to get the government to notice them. Nelson Mandela being freed from jail is important to African history because Nelson Mandela is an iconic figure of protesting and played a very big role in ending the apartheid.

    Rwandan Genocide
    The Rwanda Genocide begun on April 6th, 1994 and ended July 1994. The Rwanada Genocide was a planned genocide that occured over 100 days. More than 800,000 civilians were killed. Primarily Tutsi were killed, however a moderate amount of Hutu were killed during the genocide. This event is important to African history because you should never forget the lives that where taken.
