    Lucy lived 3-4 million years ago. She was found in Africa near the Afar Triangle. Lucy was a lot smaller then the average human at about 3 feet tall. She had long arms and a large forehead and jaw. Unfortunantly no tools of her time have been found. Scientists predict that they held simple tools like sticks. We also know that Lucy was able to walk on two feet like us humans today however their hands still slouched. They also used their hands for defence.

    Handy Man or Homo Habilis lived about 1.5 to 2 million years ago. They lived in Africa. They were half ape half human like Lucy. They too walked on two feet. They were taller than Lucy because they were four feet tall. They also learned how to use sticks and rocks to cut the meat off of animals they had killed. This was a great step for the inovation of tools.

    Homo Erectus or (Upright Man) lived about 1.8 million years ago to 200,000 BC. These inhabidents were the first to walk fully upright. They were also the first people to travel. They settled in Java, an Asian island. They were taller and thinner than their ancestors before them at about 5 and 1/2 feet tall. They were also the first to have controlled fire. They were very good at walking and running. They were basicly the first to a lot of things.

    Homo Sapiens Neanderthalensis or (Wise Man) lived about 23,00 to 30,000 years ago. They got their name because they originated in Neander Valley, German. They were short and stocker than their ancestors before them. They also had bigger brains. They made over 60 complex tools. They were the first to have an organized hunting groups. They were also the first to bury their dead so we can infer this is when civilized life began. They actually lived with the modern humans for about 10,000 years.

    Homo Sapiens Sapiens or (Doubly Wise Man) lived from 35,00 to 12,000 years ago. They are the humans we are today. They are the tallest of all thier brothers. They invented and improved many tools.
