Scout meets her teacher Ms. Caroline and she doesn't like her because Ms. Caroline does not let her read or write.

Ms.Caroline wants to give Walter and he says no. Then Scout comes and explains to her that Walter is a poor boy and cant pay what they lend him, so instead he pays in potatoes, stovewood and nuts.
