    Aston Hall

    Aston Hall
Aston Hall is regarded as being one of the best maintained manor houses of the 17th century in England. Built between 1618 and 1635 according to plans by Sir Thomas Holte, the building has many unusual features, such as the oak staircase with its impressive wood carvings, and the stucco ceilings. In the early 19th century Aston Hall was owned and occupied by the engineer James Watt (the son of the steam engine inventor with the same name).
